International Exchange to LL.M. Transfer Program

International exchange students from Miami Law’s partner institutions are eligible for the Exchange Semester to LL.M. Transfer Program. 

Requirements

  • Must have attended Miami Law within 5 years prior to the date of application to exchange program
  • Must apply and be accepted to the selected LL.M. program

Credits

  • Students may be eligible to use credits earned during the Exchange Semester toward completion of an LL.M. degree. As part of the admissions process, a determination will be made as to how many credits earned while studying at Miami Law during the exchange semester will transfer into the LL.M. program. As a general rule, a maximum of 12 credits may be transferred toward an LL.M. degree. 
  • Former international exchange students who are accepted into the LL.M. program through the Exchange to LL.M. Transfer Program are also eligible to apply to the J.D. program as Miami Law LL.M. students.
  • Students cannot use transfer credits initially earned while on exchange toward an LL.M. degree to qualify them to sit for the New York Bar. Students may be eligible to sit for the bar exam in other states.
