Who Should Consider this Program?
Miami is the gateway to Latin America. Not only do many American, European, and Asian companies have their Latin American regional headquarters here, but also the culture of the city lends itself to the learning and practicing of this niche legal area. As a law school in a global hub, the University of Miami School of Law is an ideal place to study International Law. In the program are exposed to a broad background in public international law (both traditional public law and international economic law), comparative law, and international business transactions.
You work with the Program Director who serves as a personal Academic Advisor to arrive at the best possible individualized program and your background as well as future goals are considered. Additionally, there is an orientation specifically for LLM students designed to assist with the transition to living in the U.S. and Miami.
There is career advising from an advisor who has special training in assisting LLM students. Your advisor works with you including recommending career fairs such as the prestigious New York International Student Job Fair, which attracts more than 160 of the leading legal employers from around the world. In addition, Miami Law participates in numerous job fairs with other law schools and organizations around the country.
