Joint and Triple Degree Programs: Estate Planning LLM

Full-time, Part-time, and Joint JD/LLM Programs

  • Full-time LLM Degree: 1-year program beginning in the fall.
  • Part-time LLM Degree: 2 - 3 year plan. Meet with the director to customize your study path.
  • Joint JD/LLM Degree: Earn both degrees over either six semesters and two summers of study, or over seven full semesters (12 LLM credits will be applied to the JD degree)

Miami Law JD students may apply to the LLM Program during fall or spring of their 2L year, but before the end of the spring semester of the second year.

  • Begin Taking LLM Courses: 3rd year
  • Shortest Completion Time: 7 semesters or 6 semesters + 2 summers
  • JD Credits Required: 76
  • LLM Credits Required: 31
  • Number of Credits Saved: 12

Triple Degree: JD/MBA/LLM in Estate Planning

This program is exclusively for students who were undergraduate business majors. It is ideal for those with the long-term goal of serving as advisors to the owners of closely-held businesses or family offices, or who plan to work with banking, trust or investment companies.

Miami Law JD students may apply to the LLM Program during fall or spring of their 2L year, but before the end of the spring semester of the second year.

Miami Law JD students apply to the Accelerated M.B.A. Program early in their second year. (You must have the results of your GMAT exam when you apply to the Accelerated M.B.A. Program)

  • Begin Taking Graduate Courses: 
    • LLM - Fall of their 3L year
    • M.B.A. - Summer between their 2L and 3L year
  • Shortest Completion Time: 8 semesters +1 summer
  • Number of Credits Saved: 12 (6 JD, 6 LLM)
